The St. Anthony Park Garden Club actively gardens and contributes to the community in many ways.
The club has planned, planted, and maintained the window boxes and the front lawn beds at our neighborhood library for decades. Beginning in spring 2015, we also began renovating the hill behind the library into a perennial garden. That area, from the side alley to Como Avenue, is now home to a pollinator garden. Find out more about the library gardens.
The Garden Club funds an annual scholarship for one undergraduate student in the University of Minnesota horticulture program.
This program is inspired by the Incredible Edible Movement UK to plant food (herbs, vegetables, fruit trees) in public spaces around St. Anthony Park for everyone to share. Locations include Langford Park, College Park, Hendon Triangle, and the St. Anthony Park Library. Find out more about Incredible Edible.
In some years, Garden Club members appear in the neighborhood's Fourth of July parade. In 2026, we took a stand against invasive weeds (especially creeping bellflower!), performing a short skit as we marched!
